Evening desk checklist before leverage
A short pre-trade list for PC traders who open perpetuals after work — when fatigue makes size slip.
Evening sessions in Korea often start after a full workday. Attention is thinner; the temptation to “make the night count” pushes leverage up and stops in.
Keep a paper checklist beside the keyboard:
- Current equity (not yesterday’s high-water mark).
- Risk unit for tonight — lower if you already took a full loss earlier.
- Stop level marked, with noise band checked.
- Size computed from unit and distance — then leverage as a result, not a starting goal.
- Open book scan: anything already pointing the same way?
If step 4 produces a size you dislike, do not raise the unit to feel bold. Skip the trade or wait for a structure that allows a closer invalidation. The calculator on your PC will accept any numbers you type; the checklist is what keeps those numbers adult.
